Varroa and Tropilaelaps are Mites, Oh my!

January 25 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm EST

The Mite is the biggest enemy of the beekeeper today. It is a war that is fought in every hive across the world. As beekeepers we can take part in the battles. In order to help our honey bees we must equip ourselves with the right knowledge. Weather we use miticides or not, I advocate not using them, knowing the life cycle of the mite itself and how it relates to the life cycle of the bee is the basis for making all battle decisions. We will learn how the mite and bee interact on a schedule and at what points we can intervene.
